Live Horse-Fucking on C-Span

In case anyone cares to tune in: Lynne Cheney, discussing (with the U.S. Archivist) her new book, A Time for Freedom : What Happened When in America.

Booklist notes that, in dicussing the "youthful idealism" of the 1960s, the book "excerpts the founding statement of the conservative Young Americans for Freedom"; and also that "the book ends during the patriotic days after 9/11."

All but one Amazon reviewer find the book incredibly informative. A self-described "college history student," who gives A Time for Freedom a 5-star rating, remarks: "I learned that in 1968 alone, North Vietnam launched the Tet Offensive; assassins murdered Martin Luther King, Jr. and Robert Kennedy; police used tear gas against antiwar activists at the Chicago Democratic convention; and women protested the Miss America Pageant, in that order." Just try and get that info at Harvard! Indeed, "Cheney has also filled the book with primary source quotations, images, and fascinating tidbits that, even as a college history student, I've never found anywhere else."
