The Key to Understanding America
Remember to keep visiting American Snapshots.
In other news, Wolf Blitzer has vowed that unless the Hurricane Rita death toll increases over the next 24 hour period, Anderson Cooper will take his own life on live CNN television. The sacrifice is meant to make up to viewers who were deprived of a promised spectacle of mass destruction and violent death.
And to all the Americans out there in the suburbs of Red America, glued zombielike to your TV screens and salivating in expectation of mass death, particularly mass urban death, I say again: hurry up and kill yourselves now so you will no longer be able to vote for my death.

"We took this convention center down"
Unbelievable.
Read about the National Guard's 9/3/05 "clear and hold operation" on the New Orleans convention center.
According to the presiding officer, it was a great success--the territory was conquered without shots being fired. "Undesirable" elements were pacified, and the scope of military authority was successfully expanded.
Remarkably, the enemy showed a great willingness to "cooperate" with the occupiers after Guard authority was forcefully established.
When you read this, you'll see that there is no irony in the above that is not present--unconsciously--in the language of this demented military official as he spoke before the press two weeks ago.
